Idaho State University Diversity Resource Center hosts Black History Month activities

POCATELLO – The Diversity Resource Center is sponsoring several activities to increase awareness during Black History month. Events are planned throughout February.

Events include:

• Monthlong: “The Separate But Equal Experience” is on display in The Mind’s Eye Gallery in ISU’s Pond Student Union.

• Thursday, Feb. 18, 6 p.m. – Diversity Resource Center: Screening of the Documentary “White People” and discussion by student and NAACP ISU Chapter President Stephone Jordan

• Feb. 22- 26, noon – 1 p.m. – Diversity Resource Center: Comedy in Black History – Participants will be able to enjoy the work of a different comedian each day.

• Friday, Feb. 26, 6 p.m. – Diversity Resource Center: Screening of the movie, “Friday”

• Saturday, Feb. 27, 5-7 p.m. – Rendezvous Suites A, B, C: Night of Art and Talk – Dr. Henry Evans will talk about the history of music in the African American culture. Participants will hear two performers and one recording of a jazz musician, and paintings by Noah Johnson

• Monday, Feb.29, 6 p.m. – Diversity Resource Center: Final Discussion – All are invited to come together and discuss feelings about the events during the month
